A Key To Financial Peace – Giving
Do you suffer from financial anxiety?
It’s possible that the reason you don’t have peace is because you’re holding on too tightly to money. You must recognize who the true owner is and begin living as God’s steward. It’s required of stewards that they be found faithful and obey God’s word, even when it doesn’t make sense. God will bless your obedience. Just keep giving, keep walking by faith, and keep giving thanks. Look back on how God has provided and given generously to you! Maybe your clothes, appliances, or cars have outlasted their expected lifespan. Ever received an unexpected raise or inheritance? Give thanks to God! We don’t give to get. We give out of obedience to the Lord who’s already blessed us beyond measure.
In Malachi 3, God promised to throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing there would not be room enough to store it all. In Proverbs 22:9, he says, “The generous will be blessed, for they share their food with the poor.” And, in 2 Corinthians 9, Paul wrote, “Each of you should give what you’ve decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” If you have financial anxiety, start giving. You may experience more peace and joy than you can imagine!
