The God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you.

What is Strength?
by Larry Burkett

Even a cursory review of Scripture reveals that strength does not always mean the exercise of power. More often, it means the relinquishing of personal rights to God.

The opposite of strength is cowardice. Those who flee from any confrontation display cowardice. What’s the difference? It’s whether God receives honor from the action.

If you allow others to cheat and abuse you because you are fearful of any conflict, you are displaying cowardice. Cowardice is generally motivated by self-preservation—not compassion.

A classic example is found in Numbers 13 and 14. God’s people refused to occupy their promised land because of the giants living there. Were they demonstrating compassion for their enemies? Hardly! They were self-motivated.

Strength is demonstrated when you exercise the proper use of power to accomplish God’s assigned tasks.

God works through your life if you are surrendered to Him. Will you display cowardice or strength? It’s your choice.
