The Need for Quality
by Larry Burkett

We live in a society in which average is exceptional and slothful is normal. The trend today is to seek the path of least resistance, and when the going gets difficult to give up.

In school, when the total grades are averaged, it’s called “grading on the curve.” As Christians we have allowed our standards to be graded by the curve of the world.

To avoid the trap of “curve grading,” each of us must establish some minimum, godly goals. It means that we cannot be content to just “get by.”

God’s Word requires believers to make quality products and make them available at a fair price. Quality really means putting the best possible effort into whatever we are doing—whether it be a product or a service–because, by doing so, it reflects our value system.

There’s nothing more honoring to God than quality service or a quality product from a professing Christian. And there’s probably nothing more dishonoring to God than poor service or a poor quality product from a professing Christian.
