“No soldier in active service entangles himself in the affairs of everyday life, so that he may please the one who enlisted him as a soldier.”

Taking Responsibility
by Larry Burkett

I fear we are seeing an anemic generation of Americans, Christians included, who’ve had everything done for them and handed to them.

We grow strong physically, mentally, and spiritually through struggles, but this is impossible when parents shelter their children and never make them accountable for their decisions.

Government and society add to the problem by promoting the “victim” mentality and labeling overindulgence as “illness” or “addiction.”

With these excuses to fall back on, people refuse to take responsibility for their actions and their own destinies. Instead of persevering, they wimp out. What an effective tool for Satan to stifle the work of the church!

We’re in God’s Army, and He requires commitment from His recruits. To fulfill that commitment, we must surrender our all to Him and separate ourselves from the world’s system.

When we are tempted to see ourselves as victims, we should instead take full advantage of the golden opportunities we have to work for Christ and become victors.
