“If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”

“Material” Witness
by Larry Burkett
God has placed us in a materialistic world, not only to witness to the unsaved but also for the purpose of examining our relationship to Him.
There can be no clearer reflection of the true value system of a Christian than the way he or she handles money and the way others are treated when a profit or loss is concerned.
Can Christians be honest in our society? To experience the fullness of God’s power and love, we must be honest. There will be times when it will seem that others take advantage of that honesty. The Lord knew that would happen; that’s why He admonished us to take up our crosses daily and follow Him.
There is often a price to be paid for following in the path of Christ, but there also is a great reward as a result of doing so.
We must decide whether to build on the solid rock of God’s Word or on the shifting sands of society.
The decision to behave by the world’s normal standards is a decision to deny Christ.
What is your decision?
