I have chosen him, in order that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing righteousness and justice.

Academic Achievement
by Larry Burkett

Samuel Johnson said, “Knowledge always desires increase; it is like fire, which must first be kindled by some external agent, but which will afterward propagate itself.”

The homeschooling movement has literally exploded because of the steady deterioration of our public schools and the soaring costs of private schools. Parents are desperate to insulate their children from the permissive attitudes taught in public schools, declining achievement scores, and the total denial of basic religious values at any level in public education.

In order for our children to have good futures, we must give them the best training possible, both academically and spiritually.

In his article for Home School Researcher, Richard Medlin noted that homeschooled children are “not educationally disadvantaged” and that their achievement scores are, in fact, “above average.”

The success or failure of homeschooling depends on parents’ willingness to do their jobs, and only parents who are seriously committed to teaching their children at home should try it.

Ask God to bless the parents who are homeschooling their children, and pray for the children as they learn in a home environment.
