Be Thankful!
Have you ever considered what rules your heart?
Colossians 3:15–17 provides timeless principles that shape every area of a believer’s life, including our finances. Paul writes, “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts… And be thankful… Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly…singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
These verses remind us that money’s not simply a financial matter. It’s a spiritual one as well. When the peace of Christ rules our hearts, financial decisions are no longer driven by fear, greed, or comparison. Instead of chasing wealth or worrying about tomorrow, we can trust God’s provision and make wise, peaceful decisions. Thankful people are less likely to constantly crave more because they recognize God’s blessings in what they already have. Contentment reduces overspending and encourages generosity toward others.
When Scripture shapes our thinking, we view money through God’s perspective. Biblical principles become the foundation of our financial choices. Whether earning an income, living within a budget, giving to those in need, or making purchases, believers are called to represent Christ. Allowing God’s peace and His Word to shape our hearts will impact our actions. Finances then become a powerful testimony of faith and gratitude in God’s faithful provision.
