Testimony Tuesday – A Grateful Donor Remembers

We try to encourage our listeners, and quite often, they encourage us too!

Earlier in the year, we received the following note from a long-time listener: “Thank you for your ministry in helping us steward God’s blessings wisely. Besides learning how to meet our needs, we’ve been able to help others in their time of need. We’ve supported kingdom work that promotes the gospel and equipped others to be faithful as well. Thank you for your dedicated stewardship over these past 50 years. I still remember receiving wise biblical counsel when your ministry began under the original leadership of Larry Burkett.”

Well, that’s encouraging! Money impacts our lives and can shape our values more than God’s Word if we’re not careful. That’s why knowing and remembering what the Bible says about money is essential. The Bible reminds us that God owns everything. We’re simply stewards, not owners. When we forget that, we make financial decisions based on fear, pride, or comparison instead of faith and obedience.

God’s Word teaches us to learn to be content. In a materialistic culture, contentment guards our hearts from envy, coveting, and debt. Gratitude leads us to inner peace. God’s Word addresses generosity, not because He needs our money, but because giving shapes our hearts. It loosens money’s grip and aligns us with eternal purposes. When we remember what God says about handling money, we gain clarity. We make better choices. We build margin. We avoid unnecessary bondage so we can help others.

Now, this year we’re celebrating all that God has done through Crown over the last 50 years. Come and join us in Knoxville, Tennessee, September the 10th through the 12th. Learn more at crown.org/50years
