Who Do You Believe About Money

Who do you believe about money?

Galatians 3:6 says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” This reminds us that righteousness begins with faith, not performance. Abraham wasn’t declared righteous because he had everything figured out. He was declared righteous because he trusted God. The same principle applies to our finances.

Biblical financial stewardship isn’t about perfection. It’s about faith. It’s believing that God is who He says He is, and that His ways are better than ours. Abraham trusted God with his future before he saw the outcome. In the same way, biblical financial principles call us to trust God with the resources He’s provided, even when obedience may seem risky or counter-cultural.

When we give generously, we believe God will provide for our needs. When we avoid debt, we believe He can provide in a better way. When we live within our means, we believe that sacrifice can bring contentment. Just as faith was credited to Abraham as righteousness, our financial decisions reflect what we truly believe about the Lord.

Do we believe He owns it all? Do we believe He’s faithful? Do we believe His wisdom is better than the world’s and ultimately leads to our freedom? How we handle money is a spiritual matter because it reveals who or what we really trust. God isn’t looking for perfect stewards; He’s looking for faithful ones. Like Abraham, when we choose to believe God and walk in obedience, He meets us right there.
