Testimony Tuesday – Passing it on in Kenya
God used Christian radio in the United States to start an outreach in Kenya.
My friend, Dr. Evans Baiya, listened to Larry Burkett, the founder of Crown, when he came to study in America years ago. Evans graduated, got married, started a business, and became very successful. Today, he’s using the money God entrusted to him to help those in his homeland of Kenya.
He leads an organization that partners with communities to transform individuals out of poverty and into opportunity through the love of Christ. They identify partners, facilitate volunteers, and provide leadership by guiding and connecting organizations with suitable development projects in health, education, and economics. They’re committed to empowering people to become change-agents within their own communities. Crown has been invited to train students on what the Bible says about money. They’ll learn Biblical financial principles just like Evans did. They’ll hear that God cares for us and gave us guidelines for handling money.
You see, the Bible contains more than 3,000 verses dealing with money and possessions. Jesus taught more about money than almost any other subject, because money is a primary competitor with Christ for the lordship of our lives. As it says in Matthew 6:24, “No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” So, join us in praying that God’s Word brings hope and light to Kenya!
