A Tip for the New Year – Stop Wasting Time

Need a tip on starting the New Year on solid financial footing?

Well, ready or not, here goes. Stop wasting time.  I know it sounds obvious, but all of us do things that are unproductive.  Consider a few big ones like watching TV, surfing social media sites, or reading books that have zero value. Each of us should take an inventory of things that we do that simply waste time. Then, let’s focus on eliminating one big one each day. Even better, plan to replace it with something productive.

In Ephesians 4:28, Paul said, Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need.” This verse outlines what to stop doing, what to start doing, and what to do once you begin to benefit from this strategy. Imagine what could happen if you replaced one time-waster with something far more productive. Maybe it’s studying for an exam or a professional certification, taking on extra work, or starting a home-based business. How about working with a budget coach? Imagine not where that will lead in 6 weeks, but 3 years from now. Take every free hour and convert it into productive time. We’ll all be shocked at the results of this simple step. Just think, by this time next year, you could be out of debt, have more money in savings, and be giving more to God’s work. Resolve to stop wasting time, and let me know what happens in your life!
