Righteously Manage Money
The righteous shall live by faith.
Righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ. That truth should motivate every believer to wisely manage what God provides. In Matthew 6, Jesus told us not to worry about our lives, food, and clothing. He instructed us to seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you. We need not be driven by fear and scarcity, but calmly guided by hope, purpose, and generosity. Righteousness fosters trust in God’s provision, believing He’s more than capable of providing for our needs. Impulsive decisions rooted in an anxious, fearful heart can be replaced by wise choices rooted in faith. The righteous find worth in being a child of God, not in their bank accounts, income, or possessions. This enables us to resist the love of money and an unhealthy focus on consumerism. We find contentment in Christ and treasure the riches that we have in Him.
Righteousness helps us view wealth as a tool for God’s purposes. We give generously as an act of worship, reflecting God’s love and care for the vulnerable. Investing in God’s kingdom with the resources He provides helps to advance the gospel and to bless others.
