Testimony Tuesday – Teach Them the Truth
Crown can help your children learn to manage money!
I recently received a picture of a young boy grinning from ear to ear, standing in front of a whiteboard. His father wrote to us saying, “I’m so grateful for great Crown resources and getting to teach my kids stewardship principles. One Sunday, I spent 3 hours walking my 8 and 10-year-olds through Crown content. We unpacked so many aspects of life, faith, and stewardship. My son took some incredible notes on the whiteboard. Please let the Crown team know that your work matters!”
Well, here are some of the children’s notes that I was able to read on that whiteboard:
• God made it all. We work for God, not man.
• Be content with what God gives us. Content means you have enough.
• A need is what you have to have. A want is something that you don’t need.
• Be generous. If you have something, it’s a privilege to give and to serve the Lord.
Well, let me tell you, when I read that whiteboard, I was impressed! Our kids are sponges and capable of learning many of God’s financial principles at a very young age. In fact, research shows that children form their primary money habits by the age of seven. We teach them how to feel, talk about, and use money by our very example, but that puts the burden on us. Knowing what the Bible says about handling money enables us to impact our children’s future. The foundation rests upon recognizing that God owns it all and we’re His temporary stewards. That’s a principle every child should know!
And if you need help applying those principles yourself, our budget coaching program can set you on the path to financial freedom. Go to crown.org. Click the “Get Help Now” tab. You can start today at crown.org.
