Testimony Tuesday – The Benefit of Steady Plodding
Hearing of the joy that financial freedom brings always motivates me!
We have the privilege of not only ministering to people with financial pain but also experiencing the joy of their recovery! One couple recently wrote us about their experience working with one of our trained budget coaches. Here’s what they said, “We have really enjoyed the course and benefited greatly. We have loved the Bible studies and are grateful that the course is spiritually grounded. We’ve been encouraged to think about “God’s economy” and how we’re stewards of His money. Reflecting on his role in our finances each week was peace-giving. It was encouraging to see so many scriptures talk about handling money and how to be wise and honor the Lord in these areas. Even when we’re in debt, we’ve learned that we can still be generous. It comforted me not to worry about the future. We now have a functioning budget. We have successfully gotten to step 3 on the Money Map. We’re giving more than we were before. We only have $11,000 of student loans left to pay! It’s our only debt apart from the house, and we have a plan to pay it off before the end of the year.”
Well, congratulations! The fact that you have a plan to knock out your remaining debt by year-end is a big victory! Plus, you’re generous! Now, you’re an example of Proverbs 21:5, which says, “Steady plodding brings prosperity, but hasty speculation brings only poverty.” Lasting success in God’s economy is achieved through sustained, focused work rather than risky, impulsive action. Well done!
