Let God Be God!

Do you need to slow down?

If you’re running around like a hamster on a wheel, maybe you need to take a break! Crown’s founder, the late Larry Burkett, suffered during a time of particularly high stress. Recognizing that it was more than he could handle, he jokingly said that he was going to resign from being in charge of the universe. He would let God keep His job! We often end up in that same predicament. We take on too much, spread ourselves too thin, and end up tired and ineffective. That’s when we need margin. So, let’s agree to slow down and remember that God is in control!

How do you do it? By making God’s priorities your priorities. Pray, read His Word, and seek to live as He designed – out of gratitude for all He’s done for us! In Galatians 5, the Apostle Paul said, “…you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For the entire law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” So use your gifts to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s grace. Serve with the strength that God supplies so that in everything God will be glorified through Jesus Christ. He set the example for us saying, “…whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Matthew 20:27-28)
