Determine to Follow God
Are you determined to follow God?
There is a cost to following the Lord and choosing to live His way. Sometimes, it’s a matter of breaking sinful habits and embracing those that bring Him glory. We do this by intentionally designing good financial habits into our lives while designing the bad ones out. The Bible tells us that when our sinful nature, the flesh, surfaces and tries to take control, we’re given strength to resist those natural impulses. It’s through the power of Christ, that we live to please Him. It’s a matter of opening our hearts and asking Him to deal with us where we are. We’re all a work in progress. Through the process of sanctification, God will finish the work he’s begun in us.
Now, remember, bad attitudes or sin hinders spiritual growth. They’re contrary to God’s plan for us. So let’s ask Him to reveal them. Then, confess, repent, and implement some new habits. Weed them out and plant God’s Word there instead. Find someone who will encourage you. Make yourself vulnerable to the Lord and to a person who has your best interests at heart. The Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 10, “No temptation has overtaken you except what’s common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” Let’s determine to lose ourselves in Him so that His desires become ours and follow Him, regardless of the cost.
