Crazy Money! $10,000 Luxury Suitcase

It’s Crazy Money Day!

During my years with Crown, I’ve traveled a lot. I’ve gone through numerous suitcases and recently learned about a new model: It’s a 12-bottle wine suitcase. It comes with padded cushions of varied thicknesses to protect the contents. It can be stabilized when opened with two retractable feet that lock at the bottom of each side. Its two safety padded bars hold everything in place during transit. Its grooved aluminum shell weighs only 27 pounds. It’s easy to glide and has two TSA-approved locks for security. This luxury case sells for $9,900. Yep! $10,000. Although a smaller case for just one bottle is available for $1,800. I think that’s crazy.

The love of money or even the possession of great wealth can cause people to do nutty things.  You cannot love both God and money – one will become your Master and you will become the servant. God’s Word tells us to learn to be content and dedicate ourselves to serving others. In Hebrews 12 we’re told, “Let us lay aside every encumbrance, and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.” (Hebrews 12:1) Yet, we encumber ourselves by following worldly advice and seductive advertisements that claim bigger and more are better. We crowd out the good by seeking things that can never satisfy. We burden ourselves with things that lead to debt, need storage, insurance, maintenance, and take up our time. That’s why I plan to keep using my trusty duffle bag!

I’d like to invite you to join us at Crown’s 2023 Reunion. We plan to gather October 12-15 at Ridgecrest Conference Center near Asheville, North Carolina. For more details and registration, go to crown.org/reunion2023
