A $10,000 Refund Out of the Blue
Do you need financial encouragement?
I love hearing how God works in seemingly hopeless situations. A woman came to Crown for help during a period of great uncertainty. She abandoned herself to the Lord’s care, taking Matthew 6 literally. Rather than worrying about her life, she rested on the promise that God feeds the birds and we’re more valuable than they. Out of the blue, a landlady from her past reached out with the desire to refund a portion of her past rent. She sent her $10,000. It covered all her immediate needs and gave her hope for the future. She now understands Psalm 121. “I lift up my eyes to the hills from whence my help comes. My help comes from the Lord who has made the heavens and earth.” She’s still growing in financial discipline and you can too.
The book of Proverbs offers two promises. The first is that wisdom and discipline can be acquired. Proverbs teaches us what that should look like. When undisciplined, you stumble through life, pay penalties for foolish actions, and often end up in a financial bind. You struggle to live within your means and become trapped in a cycle of debt. This prevents you from accomplishing your life purpose or achieving your full potential, and that’s why we need promise number two. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.” (Proverbs 1:7) Proverbs links the fear of God with ending foolishness. Acknowledge your need for Him and approach Him with reverential awe. Be encouraged and remember your “help does come from the Lord.”
