What is Reunion and who attends?

Reunion is an annual gathering for Crown staff, volunteers, ministry partners, radio listeners, board members, and others to learn of the latest Crown activities, products, and events while enjoying the fellowship of other "Crownies." People from all around the world reunite to share stories of transformation, be encouraged in our shared mission, be challenged for the future, and be inspired by God and His people.

What happens at Reunion?

Besides getting to know other Crownies from around the globe—which is very cool and awesome—we hear from Crown leadership on our next steps, have a boatload of fun, learn of new Crown and MoneyLife™ products, participate in rockin' singing for God, drill deeper on many subjects like generosity, diversity and culture, careers and employment trends, practical steps in saving, investing, spending and giving, and so much more. After attending a Reunion the phrase most often heard is "I can't want until next year!"

What are General Sessions?

Great singing, super videos, inspirational speakers (both from Crown and guest speakers), testimonies from around the world, practical teaching from Crown and MoneyLife™ products, and a chance to have tons of fun!

How do I pick out a lab? Do I need to sign up ahead of time?

Glad you asked! This is one of the big changes since our last Reunion. Upon arrival at Ridgecrest and picking up your registration packet, you will need to select the four labs you wish to attend. We will have tickets based on available seating in each session. Should you wish to change your selection and exchange your ticket, simply return to the Crown Store and see what's available for exchange. Lab titles, facilitators, and descriptions will be posted on the crown.org/reunion Web site by mid-July so you'll have plenty of time to contemplate which four labs are your favorites!

Are children welcome at Reunion?

As much as we would love to have a children's program to coincide with the Reunion, we do not have the staff or resources to do that this year. We would prefer that children remain at home to give everyone an opportunity to focus on all the components of Reunion events. Another option would be to bring your own babysitter.

What does Reunion cost?

There are two areas of expense for Reunion. Well, three really.

  • Crown registration = $100 per person.
  • Ridgecrest accommodations (special discounted rates) = $85 per night, plus $90 for all meals from Thursday dinner through Sunday breakfast. Special event accommodation packages have been negotiated for Reunion attendees that include a discounted room rate and discounted meal package.
  • You figure out your travel! Asheville's airport (AVL) is less than 30 minutes from Ridgecrest and has several rental car companies. Click here for transportation options from the Asheville Regional Airport to Ridgecrest.

How do I register for Reunion?

  • First, everyone must register with Crown online at www.crown.org/reunion and click on the registration tab. Or you can call 1-800-722-1976. Cost to register is $100 per person.

When do I need to arrive for Reunion?

Please plan to arrive on site at Ridgecrest after lunch on Thursday, September 23, 2010. Your registration packets will be ready for pick up, and the good folks at Ridgecrest will get you checked in to your room. Dinner is at 5:30 pm, and our first General Session will be after dinner. But give yourself plenty of time to get to know your way around, pick out your labs, try on your t-shirt, and say hello to other Crownies!

What is there to do at Ridgecrest?

Plenty! Please visit their Web site for a comprehensive look at this beautiful property. The schedule for Reunion is fairly busy, and we encourage you to consider coming a day early or staying a day late to enjoy more of the Asheville area attractions! But you will not want to miss any of the Reunion activities from Thursday evening through Saturday evening.

What should I wear?

Ridgecrest is a wonderfully casual atmosphere and we want everyone to be comfortable! We're family! Jeans, khakis, polo shirts, sweaters are fine for daily wear. On Friday evening, if you are particularly proud of your state or country of origin, feel free to wear something that will leave no doubt as to where you live!

What about meals at Reunion?

Ridgecrest serves their meals cafeteria style. When you make your reservations with Ridgecrest, you'll also secure a meal plan that has been negotiated for the Crown Reunion. Upon check in, you'll receive a meal ticket that will be used throughout your stay, punched each time you enter the cafeteria. The cost for all meals from Thursday dinner through Sunday breakfast is only $90 per person. If you come early or stay late, additional meal tickets can be purchased from the front desk in Pritchell Hall.

Clouds Coffee Shop is also available for late evening coffee, tea, and some serious cheesecake!

Is there a worship service on Sunday morning?

There will be an optional Prayer Gathering on Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m., however most people will be traveling home on Sunday and we understand that due to drive time, airline connections, etc. many will need to depart from Ridgecrest quite early that day. No "official" functions will be planned for Sunday, but please don't plan to depart on Saturday evening as the evening's celebration festivities will not wrap up until well after 8:30 p.m.

What if I have to cancel?

Crown Cancellation Policy: Cancellation of Reunion registrations made before August 22, 2010 will be refunded at 50 percent; cancellations of Reunion registration made after August 22, 2010 will receive no refunds due to production costs, etc. Notice of cancellations should be sent to Reunion@crown.org.

Ridgecrest's Cancellation Policy: In the event a confirmed reservation must be canceled, the cancellation notice must be received 60 days or more prior to the event to receive a full refund of deposit. Cancellations made 30-59 days before the event will forfeit one-half of their deposit. No refunds will be given for cancellations made less than 30 days prior to the event.

Can I come early or stay longer?

Definitely. Ridgecrest welcomes Crownies to come early and/or stay longer at the conference center. And those discounted room rates? Well, they apply before and after the Reunion dates as well! Just tell the nice reservationist the date you wish to arrive and the date you intend to depart, and mention that you are with the Crown Reunion and want to confirm that the rates are in effect for your entire stay. For any meals not included during Reunion, you will need to purchase an additional meal ticket from the front desk of Pritchell Hall.

What if I want to stay off campus?

Those persons not staying on campus but attending the event will pay $12 per day. Persons attending events scheduled for two or more days will be charged $25. These daily use rates do not include meals, program fees, or registration fees. Those staying off campus must purchase meal tickets from the front desk in Pritchell Hall.

Is Ridgecrest wheelchair/walker friendly?

The good news is that every walkway from one building to another is covered and paved so you will not get wet at Ridgecrest. The reality is that Ridgecrest is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and the property is hilly and requires a bit of walking to move from one location to another on property. If this is a challenge for you, please email Reunion@crown.org and we will work to assist those who need shuttles.

Can I buy Crown products at Reunion?

Yes! Previous Reunion attendees asked for it and we deliver! There will be a Crown Store located in the Exhibit Hall between Pritchell Hall and Spilman Auditorium. Hours of operation will be posted and Crown materials will be available for sale.

Can I invite my Small Group Leaders to Reunion?

Absolutely. We welcome everyone to Crown's Reunion...because this message is too important NOT to share!

Will there be labs for Seminar Instructors or Money Map Coaches?

Yes, labs are being developed for these and other special groups and will be outlined in your program.
