Have you ever felt the Lord nudging you toward starting your own business? I think one of the biggest stumbling blocks people run into when they think about starting a business is simply that they don’t think they can do it.

But if the Lord is truly leading you in that direction, HE certainly thinks you can.

Even after folks realize they have the God-given abilities to launch a business, the “if onlys” start to creep into their thinking. If only I wasn’t in debt. If only I had more savings. If only I wasn’t living paycheck to paycheck. If only my current job wasn’t so demanding. And on and on they go.

Well, our friend and business author Wade Myers says none of those “if onlys” has to be a “deal breaker” for you starting your own business.

The first step to launching any kind of business is planning, and you can do a lot of that without spending a dime. What is your product or service? What problem does it solve for your customers? Who are your customers? How will you reach them? These are key questions you need to answer, and they involve more time than money.

Wade says you can begin to invest time and energy into your business during evenings and weekends. Once you have a firm business plan in place, you can even launch it part time from your home during your free hours.

Starting a home-based business does not necessarily mean you have to quit your job or that you’ll need a pile of cash to get the ball rolling. You just have to think you can.
