Stewardship is about staying on the lookout for ways to save.  Just because something was a good deal last year doesn’t mean it’ll stay that way.

You’ve got to regularly take inventory of your monthly expenses to make sure you’re not overpaying.

So today we’ve got 3 great places where you can save hundreds of dollars a year, and this is from a recent CNNMoney article.

  1. Cell phones. The cost of an average plan is $780 a year, but Consumer Reports says two-thirds of us don’t use even half of our minutes. You could be overpaying hundreds of dollars a year. Go to Billshrink.com to compare your current cell phone plan with others that are available to save you money.

  2. Car insurance.  The average premium is $1,800 per year, but there are discounts available for things like: job stability, higher education, and home ownership.

How can those things lower your auto insurance premiums? Well, your insurance company wants to know that you’re stable—not just on the road—but off the road, as well.  So let them know about improvements you’ve made in your life. It could lower the cost of your premium.

  3. Entertainment. Did you know you can swap old CDs, DVDs and books for new stuff online?  Check out SwapaDVD.com and PaperbackSwap.com. Or get discount tickets to concerts and sporting events at ZebraTickets.com.
So there are 3 great ways to save you money in 2010, but don’t worry about writing all this down.  For a list of those links, just go to Crown.org and click on “My Money Life.”

We’ve got a list of all the Web sites right there for you.

.

Need for a Spending Plan

Without a spending plan, it is impossible to know where your money goes each month and whether you will have available funds for the things you need.

Budget Busters

Budget busters are areas that can result in financial disaster if not accounted for properly.

Finding Financial Freedom

The Lord owns everything and we are merely stewards of what is His. He has clear ideas on how He wants His people to function as His stewards.
