The economy has lost 7 million jobs since the recession began, but did you know that well over 10 million new ones were posted online last year?

Obviously, the Web has become an important part of the job hunting process, but most online employment sites only allow you to search by keyword and location.

Well, there’s a new batch of online job hunting sites out there that offer additional ways to match you with prospective employers.

Here’s the top 3, according to SmartMoney.com:

  1. Bintro.com. Most sites want you to answer questions from drop-down menus.  Bintro.com uses your own words and even matches closely-related terms—in addition to exact keywords.  Bintro.com even helps entrepreneurs find potential investors.

  2. OneWire.com. This site specializes in financial service jobs and has a résumé writing service available for a fee through another company.  OneWire could soon expand into the legal field, as well.

  3. JobFox.com. Jobfox has over 100,000 jobs and 5,000 employers in its database. For a monthly fee, subscribers can get advance job alerts, a career web page and skills testing.

Now, if you’re driving, don’t try to write down these sites.  Just log on to Crown.org when you get home and click on My MoneyLife for all the links.

And while you’re there, if you need a great tool to help you determine the type of work God wired you for, click on CareerDirect.

It’s my hope that these tools will work together to help put you where God wants you to be.

Choosing the Right Vocation

In choosing a vocation, Christians must weigh their priorities very carefully. When people are out of God’s priorities, they are out of His will.

Job Loss

Dealing with lay off is not pleasant, but look at the lay off as an opportunity that can be conquered.

Making Career Decisions

Most Americans need to unlearn the errors and then learn the truth regarding career decisions.

Work as Unto the Lord

Being God’s emissary on the job is not difficult; it’s impossible. Only by yielding our rights to Him can the world get a glimpse of Him through us.
