Would you like to get extra training to spiff up your resume?  How would you like to do it for free?

Well, some of the country’s top schools and businesses are offering free online courses.  You don’t have to apply, enroll, or even set foot in a classroom.

Here are top 3 online freebie classes, according to SmartMoney.com:

  1. Microsoft Office Applications.  Microsoft offers free online training in programs like PowerPoint and Excel.  Even if you think you know these programs and you use them often, these classes have tons of tricks to make you even more proficient.

  2. Java programming. If you want to get into the IT field, knowing the programming language Java is a must. MIT offers an Introduction to Software Engineering in Java—online—for free. If you can pass this class, you’ll know you have what it takes to become the next great computer programmer.

  3. Health Care for Boomers.  Tens of millions of aging baby boomers need health care, so the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health is offering a free course in Managing Long-Term Care Services for Aging Populations.

What better way than a free class to find out if you have a passion for that line of work?  And if you need a career assessment, check out CareerDirect at Crown.org.

We even have a personality I.D. tool available for free. At My MoneyLife, want to help you make and manage money wisely, especially in tough economic times. I hope you’ll find out more online at Crown.org.
