Anatoliy Musiyenko: Crown in Ukraine
Chuck says he was asked about Larry Burkett, the late Co-Founder of Crown Financial Ministries and one-time host of Crown's former radio program, Money Matters. Larry’s call was to minister to people in the U.S. The mission of the ministry changed, however, going worldwide when Christian Financial Concepts merged with Crown Ministries in 2000. The merged ministry, Crown Financial Ministries, is now in 49 countries One of those countries is Ukraine, a former Soviet Socialist Republic. The needs of people there are similar to people here--learning how to manage money wisely, God's way.
Anatoliy tells listeners how he learned about Crown. It started with a desire to teach about finances in his church. Anatoliy did an Internet search looking for biblical financial materials, and found Crown Financial Ministries. Anatoliy says people in Ukraine have a great need to learn how to manage money. He has a burden to help them stay out of debt and avoid materialism. There is no financial teaching, biblical or otherwise, in Ukraine currently. People there desperately need to be taught how to be faithful stewards. Churches are welcoming God’s financial principles, beginning with ministering to pastors. Anatoliy cites several passages: Luke 12:15, "Then he said to them, "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions." Proverbs 13:23, "A poor man's field may produce abundant food, but injustice sweeps it away." Matthew 25:29, "For everyone who has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him." In the third segment, Chuck continues talking with Anatoliy Musiyenko about the impact of teaching God’s financial principles in Ukraine. Anatoliy says the concept of honesty hits many people hard. God is using Crown in Ukraine and He's opening doors in Belarus. Anatoliy shares about his own family, and asks listeners to pray that God will send more people to work with him. Chuck gives his closing thoughts in the fourth segment:
Chuck reminds listeners about Crown's Short Films project and encourages them to visit the blog site. |
Teaching What God's Word SaysThe greatest thing pastors can do is to teach God’s financial principles as recorded in God’s Word. |
Seeking God's KingdomPray that God will keep you faithful to the purposes He has for your life. He strengthens those whose hearts are fully committed to Him. |
|
Financial HonestyEach Christian must come to the place where God’s approval is more important than the world’s riches. Then God’s peace will be experienced. |
Morality and EconomicsThe decline in moral standards and values not only affects our spiritual and emotional welfare, but it directly influences our value system. |
