Rick Boxx: Integrity at Work
Rick has written How to Prosper in Business Without Sacrificing Integrity and Integrity Moments: 90 Days of Timeless Wisdom Towards Integrity In Your Workplace, He's also contributed many of the business articles in Crown's online library. The Integrity Resource Center, located in Kansas City, Missouri, is a non-profit ministry dedicated to restoring integrity and faith at work. Using special events, radio and counseling, the IRC teaches people to live lives of integrity. Rick's passion is helping people live out their faith in the workplace. He explains that integrity is motivated by a reverence for God and goes far beyond honesty. God wants us to have integrity in every area of our lives. If we follow His principles, we'll be blessed. Rick says he felt a burden for Christians in the workplace who don’t act like Christians, presenting a negative witness for Christ. He cites Exodus 20:20, "Moses said to the people, "Do not be afraid. God has come to test you, so that the fear of God will be with you to keep you from sinning."(NIV) Chuck and Rick discuss how we can integrate our faith at work through relationships. What do you do if your boss isn’t acting with integrity? Pray, follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, consider sharing your concerns with your boss to provide an opportunity for change, and above all, model integrity yourself. If you’re asked to do something illegal or immoral, you’ll probably have to leave that workplace. Rick cites Proverbs 11:3, "The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity." (NIV) Takeaways from today's program:

Buying InfluenceLeaders in business cannot be effective in establishing moral codes of ethics and core values in their workplace if they don’t model them themselves. |
|
Who's in Charge? If you struggle with being controlling, or fearful of letting others into your private world, ask yourself who’s really in charge. |
Pay Up!To build a reputation of integrity in business, adherence to this passage is critical. If you owe someone money, do the right thing - pay up. |
