Chuck Reports from Africa on Debut of New Film Series
We're doing a four-nation tour with a ministry partner Faith Comes By Hearing, to share God’s Word with people who can’t read. Faith Comes By Hearing distributes audio Bibles in the languages of people who can’t read. They are joining with us on the release of Crown’s short-film series, God Provides. The films are designed to teach people who can’t read God’s financial principles through dramatizing key Bible stories. We've been in Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, and South Africa on this tour, meeting with ministry leaders and taking the films into villages. God is using the short films in a very powerful way. I want to share today about how God is using our mutual efforts to take His financial principles to the poor and ultra poor. Crown’s founders Larry Burkett and Howard Dayton both felt the call in 2000 to reach outside the U.S. and teach people all over the world God’s financial principles. I believes that was of the Lord because of the current global financial crisis. The economy is on people’s minds everywhere. Crown is serving people in over 80 countries. The poor live on less than $2 a day, the ultra poor live on less than $1 a day. Ministry leaders we've met with in Africa have been very excited about what Crown is doing and the film series. God has been moving among the poor in every place we've been. We've seen people authentically worship in their native tongues. Their songs have brought joy to my soul. The films are a learning system that allows people to simply and effectively learn God’s financial principles. It’s dramatization of God’s story combined with a time of discovery where people who have watched them can express what God taught them. It’s been proven over and over again that people who watch the film understand the Bible stories and what God wants to teach us through them, they get it. In each film, the dramatization of the story is followed by one of the characters from the story teaching the key principles from the story. The films are teaching people the principles of God’s economy, like hard work, honesty, and planning. Folks are learning that following God’s principles leads to empowerment and financial freedom and seeing that God has a plan for them beyond salvation. Some of the teachers seeing the films on this tour believe the message could liberate Africa, which is rich in natural resources but its people are poor and help break the dependency Africa has on outside help. Crown is preparing to release the films in the U.S. in the fall. You can become part of Crown's effort to teach biblical stewardship by making a gift online or by calling 800-722-1976. Thank you! |

Finances and Your Relationship with GodThis generation’s greatest need is for God’s Word to be taught clearly and undiluted. The next greatest is for Christians to demonstrate that it works. |
God and MoneyOnce we understand how God uses money and why He chooses to use it in a particular way, we can better understand His directives regarding finances. |
