Instructions for Installing Patch and Launching Career Direct

1. Uninstall the Career Direct program from your computer. Go to Start/Settings/Control Panel and click on the Add/Remove Programs icon. Click on Career Direct from the list and click on the Add/Remove button. This will remove the program completely. Do not simply delete the program; it will not be completely removed.



2. Click here to download the patch. Save the file to the desktop.
   
   
3. After the cdpatch-vba.exe is downloaded to the desktop, double click on the icon and follow the on-screen prompts. Click on Start/Shut Down and Restart Your Computer. After the system reboots, click on Career Direct icon and it should now launch correctly.



4. Reinstall the Career Direct program.

Instructions for Solving Macromedia Conflict

1. Uninstall the Career Direct program from your computer. Go to Start/Settings/Control Panel (Start/Control Panel for Windows 2000/XP users) and double click on the Add/Remove Programs icon. Click on Career Direct from the list and click on the Add/Remove button. Follow the on-screen prompts to uninstall. This will remove the program completely. Do not simply delete the program; it will not be completely removed.
2. Right click on your Start menu and select Explore.Go to Windows , then System (System 32 for Windows 2000/XP users). Under the System (or System 32) directory, you will notice the Macromed directory. Right click on this directory and delete the directory.
3. Reinstall the Career Direct program.
4. Launch Career Direct and the program should now work properly.
