Career Direct Patch - Please read the instructions for installing and downloading the VBAJet patch below.
Symptoms of the VBAJet:
Career Direct may not install correctly. Error message #3447, #429, #438, and/or #91 will eventually appear. Download the patch below.

Instructions for Installing Patch and Launching Career Direct
- Uninstall the Career Direct program from your computer. Go to Start/Settings/Control Panel and click on the Add/Remove Programs icon. Click on Career Direct from the list and click on the Add/Remove button. This will remove the program completely. Do not simply delete the program; it will not be completely removed.
- Click here to download the patch. Save the file to the desktop.
- After the cdpatch-vba.exe is downloaded to the desktop, double click on the icon and follow the on-screen prompts. Click on Start/Shut Down and Restart Your Computer. After the system reboots, click on Career Direct icon and it should now launch correctly.
- Reinstall the Career Direct program.

Symptoms of the Macromedia conflict:
- On the main page of Career Direct, you are not able to execute the buttons
at the bottom of the window.
- Receiving error message #339 swdir.dll conflict.
- Receiving error message #372 failed to load shockwave control.
- Illegal operation msvcrt.dll error message.

Instructions for Solving Macromedia Conflict
- Uninstall the Career Direct program from your computer. Go to Start/Settings/Control Panel (Start/Control Panel for Windows 2000/XP users) and double click on the Add/Remove Programs icon. Click on Career Direct from the list and click on the Add/Remove button. Follow the on-screen prompts to uninstall. This will remove the program completely. Do not simply delete the program; it will not be completely removed.
- Right click on your Start menu and select Explore.Go to Windows , then System (System 32 for Windows 2000/XP users). Under the System (or System 32) directory, you will notice the Macromed directory. Right click on this directory and delete the directory.
- Reinstall the Career Direct program.
- Launch Career Direct and the program should now work properly.
