We believe that the way an individual handles money is merely
an outward indication of what's going on inside that person.
Likewise, the way an organization handles its money is a reflection
of its values and integrity.
Our board has established the following guidelines and information
concerning Crown Financial Ministries, Inc.
1.
Crown Financial Ministries is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3)
organization. We conform to the standards established
by the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability
(www.ecfa.org). This assures the public that Crown Financial
Ministries, Inc. adheres to ethical accounting, administration,
and fundraising practices. Click here to view information about Crown's financial accountability and our latest IRS Form 990.
2.
Crown Financial Ministries operates on a
cash basis (i.e., it does not borrow money). Only when
cash is on hand does Crown Financial Ministries develop
new projects or ministries or build buildings. The ministry
does not presume upon the future.
3.
Crown believes that one of the ways God
can give direction is through the provision (or withholding)
of funds. Therefore, Crown Financial Ministries moves
forward on a project only when it has the funds on hand
to do so.
4.
Because the ministry has a policy of not
borrowing, the board of directors has established a 2
1/2 month reserve for payroll needs, so that employees'
and their families' needs will be met during periods of
time when donations to Crown Financial Ministries may
not equal the fixed monthly needs of the ministry.
5.
Crown Financial Ministries, Inc. never pressures
nor resorts to "gimmicks" to obtain support.
We believe it is important to make our needs known and
then to ask people to seek the Lord's guidance on how
they should respond.
6.
Crown Financial Ministries assumes that
every donation or gift of support is sacrificial and,
therefore, treats the use of that support with the utmost
care, reserve, and frugality. It has no fleet of automobiles,
no airplanes, no condos. It owns only the modest buildings
it uses daily and the equipment within them.
7.
Vendor bills are paid when received.
8.
Crown Financial Ministries never sells or
reveals its mailing list to others. Privacy is guarded
zealously.
9.
Crown Financial Ministries staff salaries
are set for the task involved for the area of operation
(Gainesville, Georgia) based upon periodic surveys of
the area, as well as local and government wage-scale information
by job codes.
10.
Crown Financial Ministries, Inc. belongs
to God. It is His work. It will shut down when He is through
with it and stops funding it. Until then, Crown will continue
to carry out, on a cash basis, the things God has laid
on our hearts to do.
11.
Howard Dayton accepts no salary for his
work at Crown Financial Ministries. Instead, he receives
royalties paid by publishers when they sell books he has
written. Howard takes no royalties on his books sold by
the ministry; all revenue from them remains in the ministry.
12.
Howard Dayton believes this is God's ministry,
not his. Howard's name is not on our buildings; nor does
any ministry property belong to him personally. Everything
is owned by the ministry, Crown Financial Ministries,
Inc.
