1. I bought the DVD. Why do we have to have a License?
It's the law. Copyright law is very clear concerning the use of retail DVDs in any venue outside of home or small group use (less than 100 people). We have developed this purchase option that allows your church or ministry to "be legal" and empower you with tools to make your ministry use of the films successful.

5. What if we didn't purchase a License and unknowingly showed the movie?
Any organization's public exhibition of a film without proper licensing is subject to steep and significant penalties through The Copyright Act (as much as $150,000 per exhibition). Even inadvertent infringers are subject to The Copyright Act. If your organization has unknowingly showed a movie while not in copyright compliance, please contact us directly at 1-800-249-6320 to remedy the matter and purchase a Large Group License.

6. Since I'm buying a License, can we charge admission?
No. You cannot charge for admission. The License only gives you permission to do a public showing of the films and to market your event.

7. We're only showing the movie one time. Can we get the License for less?

10. Does our CVLI license cover this movie?
CVLI is a privately held company that has an agreement with some producers and their films to gather license fees. That's all. CVLI is not a legal entity providing an "umbrella license" for any/all films shown in your church.
Even if a producer is included on a CVLI license, that license terms prohibit you from using the movie title, the characters, or the producers in any advertisement/publicity for your large group viewing. This applies to promotion inside and outside the church.
With a license purchased on a title-by-title basis, such as if offered for God Provides™, you pay for the rights to not only show the film, but to use the film's name/actors/producers in your event marketing. We know that drawing a crowd requires publicizing your large group viewing, so we created all the promotional materials you'll need to draw people to your event.

11. I've already purchased a License for another film. Does that License cover any other films?
No. These films are covered under title-by-title Licenses, which means each film requires its own License, unless you purchase the complete Boxed Set License.
