Receiving Debt Counseling

How to know if you need debt counseling:

  • Are you having trouble managing your consumer debt?
  • Are your creditors contacting you?
  • Are you losing sleep because of your debt load?

If the answer to these questions is yes, then you may be a candidate for debt counseling.

For years, Larry Burkett recommended CCCS of Atlanta on the radio to callers with multiple creditors and other credit problems. Crown Financial Ministries has made an arrangement with Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Atlanta, a nonprofit community service agency and one of the largest and most highly rated credit counseling organizations in the country.

CCCS of Atlanta adds an extra arm to help those seeking debt management. Before you contact CCCS of Atlanta, you will need to have a source of income, some money in your budget to allow for repayment of your creditors through the debt management plan, and be committed to repaying the debt you owe.

The toll-free number that services all of the United States is 1-888-771-HOPE (4673). CCCS of Atlanta offers telephone counseling 24 hours a day, seven days a week. There is no charge for the initial consultation. However, if you choose to enter a Debt Management Program, you will be charged a nominal monthly fee. Also, be aware that not all states allow Debt Management Programs. Some of these states include South Dakota, Colorado, and Michigan.

CCCS of Atlanta also offers Internet counseling. However, the telephone interview is very helpful in understanding what will take place and what is expected of you when you choose to enter a debt management plan.

CCCS of Atlanta cannot help everyone, but most will find the help they need to reduce their debt load and eventually get out of debt. We strongly suggest that, even though you may be working with CCCS of Atlanta, you also should work with a Crown Money Map Coach to get Biblical financial training
