WCDR FM Receives Crown Financial Ministries “Station of the Year” Award

Gainesville, GA -- March 13, 2006 – The nation’s religious broadcasters have discovered what listeners in the Cedarville, Ohio area have known for years—that radio station WCDR is deeply committed to teaching what the Bible says about managing money.

WCDR FM 90.3 in Cedarville is the recipient of the annual Crown Financial Ministries “Station of the Year” award.

Crown is the world’s largest non-profit ministry teaching biblical financial principles. Headquartered in Gainesville, Georgia, Crown has offices across the United States and on six continents.

WCDR, flagship station of the CDR Radio Network, has aired all 3 of Crown’s nationally syndicated radio programs, Money Matters, How to Manage Your Money and Money Minutes, since 1989.

CDR Radio Network General Manager Paul Gathany accepted the award at the recent National Religious Broadcasters’ annual convention in Dallas, Texas.

“The ministry of Crown really fits so well with what we do, and try to do, day in and day out, and that’s to provide meaningful ways to enlighten our listeners on how God’s Word does really make a difference in our lives day to day.”

Crown CEO Howard Dayton said partners such as WCDR and the CDR Radio Network play a critical role in achieving the ministry’s mission, teaching biblical financial principles on a global scale. “The Bible has more than 2,350 verses on the wise use of money, so you know Someone thinks it’s important.”

CDR Radio Network, also known as The Path, has 12 translator and affiliate stations including WCDR and serves more than 3.8 million listeners in Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky. The network is owned by Cedarville University, a Christian liberal arts university with nearly 3,000 students in Cedarville, Ohio.
